I don't seem to see a place to place the hook of a sholder strap. Am I missing something?

You are correct the 326 is not originally equipped with a shoulder harness since it is sold with a line head.
If you determine that you would need a shoulder strap those parts can be ordered separatley and installed on the trimmer.
Shoulder harness part number is 537 21 62 02
Attaching loop ( for tube) is 537 35 36 01
