    Question:
Why won't my XT722FE lawn mower start up using the key start?
    Details:

I have a XT722FE lawn mower equipped with key start switch. I have just purchased it, and I let it charge for 24 hours before using it. However, when I went to crank the mower up using the key, it did not crank or even make a noise. I was holding the Operator Presence Control Bar down and everything. After trying a couple more times, I just cranked it manually and it started perfectly. I am charging the battery box again just in case. Does anybody know what might be wrong?

Two weeks ago I purchased an XT722FE and had exactly the same problem.  The sales repairman checked it out, and found the problem to be the starter on the Kohler engine.  He has contacted Kohler, not Husqvarna, to get a new starter, as it is under warranty.  I suggest you go back to the sales rep to do the same thing.

      Hey Maretron,

Thank you for contacting us at Answer Army.

Here are the steps to preparing your battery before starting the lawn mower.  Be sure all terminals are hooked up correctly as well and hold the operator presence control bar down to the handle.

      1. Connect battery charger connector (male) to harness connector (female).

      2. Plug battery charger into 110 volt A.C. outlet.

      3. Leave battery charger connected for 24 hours before starting your engine for the first time.

      4. After charging, disconnect harness connector (female) from battery charger connector (male).  Connect your battery charger to charge battery as required.

IMPORTANT: THE ENGINE WILL NOT RECHARGE YOUR BATTERY.  AT THE END OF THE MOWING SEASON THE BATTERYSHOULD BE CHARGED FOR 48 HOURS TO PROTECT THEBATTERY DURING WINTER STORAGE.

CAUTION: Always disconnect the engine connector (male) from the battery connector (female) to prevent accidental starting when transporting or storing your lawn mower after the season.

Why won't it start?  It's a Husqvarna!  I bought a "brand-new" XT722FE.  The salesman at the dealership assured me that a customer had traded it back in after just trying it out a little bit.  I took photographs of the grass stains and scuff marks on the "new" lawn mower.  Later that same day, I found out why the previous owner had brought back the Husqvarna XT722FE lawn mower.  It won't restart right away.  I have to take a long break from my task and come back later in order to finish what I had started.
