    Question:
I just bought a husqvarna riding lawn mower (LGT2554)and am confused about what type of engine oil to use. One part of the manual says to use SAE 30 above 32 degrees and another part of the manual says to use 10W-30 above 32. I looked underneath the hood of the lawn mower and on a sticker it says oil spec of 10W-30. In the past, with other mowers, i've always used plain SAE 30. Which type of oil is recommended, SAE 30 or 10W-30?

    Hi Jason

Thanks for contacting the Answer Army to post your questions.

Always follow the recommendations from the Engine Manual. You should have received a manual from the engine manufacturer. They have the oil requirements listed. However, unless you are running in the winter (snow thrower etc) 30 weight will work fine.

Do not use synthetic unless the engine manufacturer recommends you do so.

Thanks again from the Husqvarna Technical Services Team
