Well, I have figured out that the tabs should NOT be set in the same position, as the manual says.
I put the front tab assemblies in the last tab away from the motor, to the right..
I HAD the rear (by the handle) in the same position, but the rear ratcheting mechanism is offset to the RIGHT of the axle; in
the front, it is to the left of the axle, so the positions of the the tabs to be reversed. The rear tabs need to be in the furthest
position to the LEFT.
Clear as mud, eh?

Looks like you have come up with a good question.
The wheels should be in the same position relative to each other so all the way forward in the front means all the way rearward in the back. If you move either the front or back the other should be moved to correlate with that movement.
