    Question:
I have a Husqvarna YTH22V46 Riding Mower. I am a newbie to riding lawn mowers. My mower blades stopped rotating with the clutch lever turned all the way counterclockwise. The owner's manual troubleshooting instructions lack step by step directions.
Possible causes listed include 1. Obstruction in clutch mechanism. Correction - Remove obstruction. 2. Worn/damaged mower drive belt. Correction - Replace mower drive belt. 3. Frozen idler pulley. Correction - Replace idler pulley. And finally 4. Frozen blade mandrel. Correction - Replace blade mandrel. I would appreciate step-by-instructions to check out each of these issues and do the suggested repairs.

IF the blades are turning then it won't a frozen spindle or idler pulley. if one these were frozen either when you engage the deck it would stall the engine or you will smell burning rubber of the belt.

Now with stopping the engage does back off slightly at full engaged position. This is to it keep held in position. There is a couple things I check first. One the condition and length of the deck belt. It should be 106" +- 1/2". Actually spec is 1/2" x 106-1/8". Belts do get burn spots and do have general wear. Second checking of the Idler and spindle bearings as do wear out and get sloppy effectively make the deck belt act as if it is too long. And finally check the deck engagement cable.
