    Question:
Love my new 460 rancher with a 24" bar. Love it Love it! But
    Details:

But i want a 16" bar and chain for normal household jobs.

I live 1.5 hours from the nears dealer. the website is so cryptic that i can not figure out part numbers for a bar and chain to order them online.

I guessing Hasqvarna marketing plan will put them out of the US market by being dealer proprietary.

Last Hasqvarna product i will buy if I can not buy parts.

Note this assumes you are using a 3/8 Standard Chain pitch . If you saw is setup with a .325 pitch the below will not work and you need PN that BNC setup.

      16" 3/8 Std 60 Drive links .050 Gauge Bar PN 608000016

      Chain H46, 16", 60 DL, 3/8", .050  PN 501842560

Also note your bar mount is an Oregon K095 and many of the Husqvarna chains are Oregon chains. You need to the mount, gauge, pitch, and bar length to get the right setup.

      Arlon,

Just my two cents, but It sounds like you need a smaller trim chainsaw.

By the time you purchase a 16 inch bar, and then a couple of 16 inch chains, you are almost half way to the cost of a small lighter trim saw.  Its also a good idea If you do any amount of wood cutting to have a second lighter trim saw,

Use the Model 460 with the 24 inch bar to fall the tree, and to cut up the logs, and use the smaller trim saw for knocking off the limbs before bucking. A Model 435 is a nice light duty trim saw. and a little pricer one if you have the resources is a Model 545. I have worked on both of them, and used them both, and like them very much, again for some light trimming of branches.

Note: The disadvantage of a heavier engine with a lighter smaller bar, Is that you will still be carrying around the weight of the heavy engine and trying to turn it sideways to trim limbs on a fallen tree, and obviously switching bars and chains when you need a larger or smaller chain saw. (although the switching of bars and chains can be done fairly easily). I always have at least two chainsaws when I am cutting trees, just my two cents.

Also as Eugene suggested, If you do decide to just do it with one chain saw make sure your setups of bars and chains match, so its an easy switch, and so there is No confusion as to pitch. "Do Not Mix Pitches of Bars and chains ".

      I hope this helps
