    Question:
I purchased the following product: Poulan Pro->Chainsaw->PP4218AVX
Serial Number 966682401. When I registered the saw the promotional ad in the box stated I would receive a free case with the registration. It's been several weeks now and no case. Please help!

Thanks Ron.  So it looks like the reason you didn't get the carrying case after your initial registration is because you chose "independent dealer" as your place of purchase.  This promotion is only valid on specific serial numbers AND models that were purchased at Home Depot.  You entered Home Depot on your 2nd registration and had the correct serial number... so I can confirm that you now qualify for the promo.

Thanks for using AnswerArmy and enjoy your saw (and case when it arrives!).

Thank you for contacting the AnswerARMY.

The number you have here is the Product ID not the serial number.

The serial number will be in this format nnnnnlnnnnnn-n. Please review the card for contact information.

Poulan Pro customer service is non-existent. Called for the same problem- it has been over nine weeks since I registered to get the "free" carrying case. Waited 15 minutes and then was told there was nothing they can do to help. The rep told me to call the number on poulanprofreecase.com. I told him it's poulanprocase.com and there's no phone number there. He then argued with me and said if I go to poulanprofreecase.com there will be a number to call. THERE IS NO SUCH WEB PAGE ! ! !  Now wondering if there ever WAS a free case available. Thought the company had a good reputation. Guess I was wrong.

I did receive my free case, it was in the mail within a week after I called the three or four numbers you did. Hopefully, yours will arrive soon. If you throw enough mud at the wall...some of it actually sticks. Good luck.

PS. I have used the saw several times and it is a worthy machine.

Thanks. I agree it's a fine machine, so far. I regret not buying it at a different store where I saw it.  For $10 more it came with the case.

            Hi Ron,

I've looked through the product registrations and it shows that you just registered on October 31st (yesterday).  I'm not seeing any registration before that date.

You should receive your carrying case in four to six weeks.

Originally registered August 27.  Confirmation #110828-000272.  Filled in the info again yesterday in the hope that there might have been a customer service phone number on the confirmation page. Very frustrating for something that should be so simple.

First, THANK YOU for your help.

But of course, it's MY fault! Since this was a separate web page strictly for registering to get the carrying case, there should have been an immediate red flag for wrong info. Also received a confirmation stating the case will arrive in 4 to 6 weeks. If it's a Home Depot only co-op promotion, place of purchase field should not have been on this form. But no, it was just the regular registration form copied and pasted! Good customer service requires more thought and effort than that. Whoever is in charge should be ashamed.

                    Ron,

We understand and sympathize with your frustrations.  Unfortunately, we have to add some of these controls in order to prevent fraudulent submissions by visitors who didn't actually purchase the equipment.  As you may know, there are websites and other online communities which hunt for these types of promotions in order to receive free products while never actually purchasing or truly qualifying for the promotion.  We still want to reward customers like you, so as a preventive measure we add some of these seemingly unnecessary controls.

We've had a huge response from the promo and comparatively only a few complaints.  While overall it appears to be working, there are a few instances (like you and Tony) where a qualifying customer doesn't receive their promotional item.  We will continue to work to improve the redemption process so we don't upset good customers like you in the future!

I sent my card in for my free case on 6/25/12, then sent the request online 8/22/12 . I called customer no serice and was told to keep sending online requests and eventually I might receive my promised case.  This is customer service?

I purchased the following product: Poulan pro model number pp4218avx.will the story is  poulan dose not stand up to there warranty all you get is 30 day . not one year warranty. it doesn't matter what's wrong with the saw they will blame you . ever thing that was listed under the warranty they will blame you. they will say things like  you mess with it.  i took the saw in to the autherized repair shop and they opened it up. they called me and said the saw could not be repared because I damaged it. they said I got a small stick in the area of the coil and broke it. with that in mind remember the coil is all metal. So i find it very hard to believe. And when I went in to pick it up it was still taken apart. they return it to me with the parts in a bag. Was not hard to see that they broke it while taking it apart. But Poulan Company believed them  (the repair shop) that they found it that way.

I purchased a Poulan Pro in December 2012 and was supposed to receive a case after registering on-line.  I still have not received the case and it is August 2013.  When you try contact customer service, they are no assistance.  Very frustrating.  Very Poor customer service.  Next time just don't offer a free case if you can't deliver.
