    Question:
New 924HV oil leak? I just got 924HV over a month ago, when i picked it up from the dealer the oil level was at full. I store it in the shed for over a month and today I saw (and smelled it too) a fairly large ( around 10 shoe size) paddle of oil underneath it. i tipped it to the side little bit and saw that there were few drops on the plastic cover underneath the thrower. However, i checked the oil level (few times today) and it is still on FULL, exactly as it was a month ago. Any ideas on whats going on?
I had it running for about 10 min after i purchased it to see if it works properly, everything was ok.

    Hi Greg,

Thank you for contacting Husqvarna. What has probably happened is the grease in the transmission has separated causing what looks like oil to have leaked out. Confirm the engine hasn't leaked any oil. Once you have verified your oil is at the full level. Then crank up the thrower and engage the transmission allowing it to blend up the grease and fluid inside the transmission. If you still have some concerns or see it leaking more fluid out. Please get to your local dealer, /images/us/homeowner/dealers/dealer-locator/ explain the issue and have them evaluate the concern.

For warranty consideration you should present the unit and your original dated sales receipt to the servicing dealer. Your local dealer is your best and fastest source of information. Hope this helps.

OK, i will try it today.

So, if you are correct, does the transmission needs to be re-filled with fluid or there is nothing to worry about, if there is no more leaks?

      Thanks

Yes, if there are no more leaks then you have nothing to worry about, and I would keep an eye on the oil level for the next few uses just to make sure.

So I started it on Monday and run it for about 10 minutes, I did put it on drive and engaged the auger so everything in the transmission would mix.

There haven't been any leaks few days after that but today I saw few drops underneath it, is it possible that the transmission grease is seperating againl?

Oil level is still full, just as it was.

No it shouldn't separate again until maybe next year after the unit sits still for several months. I wouldn't be too concerned over a few drops right now. If it does continue though I would take it to an authorized service center to have it looked at. The machine comes with a 2 year warranty so if there is a manufacture defect we can catch it before the warranty runs out. Again just keep an eye on the oil level to make sure it is up to the full line.
