The plastic key is a safety. The delay is also a safety feature. You should be able to stop the engine without removing the key. The key should be removed when storing the snow thrower. This prevents unintentional usage of the snow thrower. If the start stop switch is not working properly have your dealer repair or replace it.
This answer does not really answer my question. Why can I not restart the engine after shutting it off for a minute without removing and then reinserting the plastic key. I can understand removing the key if I am not going to use the machine for a period of time, but when I just want to move my truck out of the driveway, I should be able to restart it without going through this process should I not ??
