Edward,
Thanks for contacting Husqvarna to post your question.
The part numbers are correct. There is something else going on with the saw. Because you have checked the ground (very important) my next recommendation would be to check the air gap. Should be about .012". This is also very important. Next make sure you are using the correct spark plug . It must be a resistor plug. Check the flywheel key, to make sure it is not sheared. Disconnect the stop start switch, this will bypass it and will allow to check spark without interference from the switch.

The original Spark Plug is a NGK(R) BPMR7A and from a dealer they sold me a Champion CJ8Y which I assume is a resister type. The air gap on the plug is .012. I did have the the ground wire off the stop/start switch. The gap for the flywheel magnets (which are good) to the coil is a dollar bill tickness. I even used a calling card thickness. The flywheel is fine and spinning the piston when I pull the cord. I put the spark plug in the spark plug wire and hold the plug to the engine head in a dark room and pull the cord fast. NO SPARK. When I bought the new coil from the dealer that had a different part number which you stated that they were the same and okay, I checked the resistence from the tip of the Plug wire to the coil core and the readings(.0067) were the same between the two (Original and replacement). I returned the replacement to the dealer which he almost didn't want to take back. The cost was around $70.00. I've worked on small engines many times but apparently not ones that are made by the swedes. What am I missing? Thanks a bunch.
