I'm interested in the DRT900. What I need to know is: What is the difference between counter rotating and dual rotating tines? Is one better than the other?
The difference between the two is the counter rotating tines will only spin in reverse. Or the opposite direction of the tires. The dual rotating tines can spin in either direction.
All of the DRT models come with the duel rotating tines. The shift lever for the transmission is the same one that controls the tines. There are a few different settings with the transmission. You can drive forward and reverse without the tines rotating or you can drive forward with the tines turning forward or in reverse. The tines will only work when the tiller is in the forward driving gear, they will not work when the transmission is in reverse.
The other model of tiller is the CRT, which only has the counter rotating tines. Again the tines will only work when the transmission is in forward. When the transmission is in reverse the tines do not spin.
Hopefully this answers your question. If not, let me know.

Is that a feature of the transmission or user selectable?
