Hi Gregg,
Thanks for using the Answer Army to post your questions.
Fuel with Ethanol only has a shelf life of 3 weeks to a month. Regardless of the amount of oil you used in the mix when fuel sits for too long it starts to oxidize and separate. Then when you run your machine the separated fuel washes down the cylinder causing metal on metal friction. As you stated your using the fuel and the oil mix that came with the machine which means the fuel is almost a year old.
As for Jessica hanging up on you I can not answer for that, she works at Dixie sales and they take some of our consumer calls. She deals with escalations so I know she is used to working with upset customers.
I apologize for the inconvenience you have encountered but fuel related failures are not covered under the manufactures warranty.
Greg, this web site says buy fuel to last only 30 days. That is one month, right. Your answer is implying this information is incorrect. If I follow the recommendations given elsewhere on this site, your response to this customer is that Husqvarna will not warranty their product even though the manufacturer's recommendation is being adhered to.
