    Question:
I just purchased a Weed Eater One, and out of the box I have concerns. My biggest concern is a loud rattling that comes from under the engine while it's in drive. When I push the clutch/brake in the rattling goes away. It sounds like a clanking noise. This happens whether the mower blades are engaged or not. Also, when I engage the blades, the machine shakes and the engine almost stalls. I've also noticed the engine sputters quite a bit. I'm assuming (hoping) none of this is normal? Did I get a lemon?

In a very small number of units, the friction drive wheel in the transmission may become delaminated. This will affect the drive system functionality (loss of speed or high vibration). To assist with this repair, a kit with the complete transmission, associated repair parts and full picture assembly instructions is available as part number 532436144.  Your local Servicing Dealer can assist you in ordering this Warranty part and with any other questions that you may have regarding this topic.

Thank you for the link.  However, my biggest concern is that there is shaking beneath the engine, in what I'm assuming is the friction drive, regardless of the mower being engaged or not.  So it sounds like I need to take it to get it checked out by a service professional?  This is a little disappointing.
