Hi Bob
Thanks for contacting the Answer Army to post your questions.
We regret any confusion, but are unable to identify a LGT26K54 model. There is the possibility of a misprint at some point, but we can only find the LGT unit with Kawasaki engine from 2011 and 2012 as LGT24K54. There is a model YTH26K54, but that unit has a Briggs and Stratton engine.
We do regret any misinformation you may have received, but appreciate your understanding
Thanks again from the Husqvarna Technical Services Team.
For a breakdown on the LGT26K54, that's Lawn & Garden Tractor, 26 HP Kohler, 54" cut.
The LGT24K54 is the 24 HP Kawasaki, and I'm not sure why the LGT26K54 isn't showing up on their website.
i just bought a husqvarna lgt26k54 with a 26 hp briggs due to be delivered by lowes in the morning. was looking on the husq. web site at attachments and realized its not there! discontinued model maybe? have any problems with these mowers anyone?
yep we have a husqavarna lawn tractor and ever since we bought it all weve had is trouble had to fix it every year going on 6 yrs and still fixing. DONT BUY A HUSQAVARNA BAD NEWS.
I think Husqvarna repainted and remodelled them and sold them off to a large, former catalog, merchandiser. I just bought one from them configured with 26 HP BS engine w/ 54" cut. Husqvarna is named on one of the paper stickers on the product. Tractor model is 917.288583 from the other folks, apparently equivalent to YTH26v54.
Beware of what I believe to be fuel tank venting issues with several of the Husqvarna tractors, including this one. Symptoms: Runs for a while (20-30 min in my case) then stalls if mowing, or surges if idling or just moving the tractor. Cracking the gas cap to vent the tank is a quick fix, but probably breaks some green regulation. And lets crap into the gas tank.
Doing nothing but letting it set for a while allows air to leak back into the tank and lets you run once more for a while. That gives it the appearance of an overheating issue. Problem is worse if fuel tank very full, it dies quickly.
