Steve,
Hi and thanks for using Answer Army to post your question.
This is a common problem especially during the summer seasons. When you leave your machine running in one spot for an extended period of time, the escaping heat can turn your grass brown. The best thing I can recommend is to not leave the machine running in one spot for too long of a period.
There is another heat shield that you can get from your local Husqvarna dealership. The part number is 575 26 20 02. They may not have one in stock but they can order it for you. This shield is an addition to the shield that comes on the machine. It will not allow you keep the machine sitting for an extended time but it will increase the amount of time you can leave the machine running in one spot.
The good news is that the brown spots are temporary and will go away in a few days.
I hope this helps, and thanks again for using Answer Army!

Greg P. Do you have a diagram showing that part 575 26 20-02 is for Husqvarna RZ5424? I cannot find it listed anywhere.
Thanks.
Greg P,
I was wondering the same thing as Mr. Baxton. Does anyone have a picture of the "optional" exhaust cover? It really should be included with the mower. I can't believe after the brief research I've done and this problem with burned grasses is more common than I am comfortable with. I am a firefighter by trade and to see this kind of burn after only a fractions of a second is disconcerting to say least. After the last few years of drought throughout most of the country this kind of heat coming from an exhaust should never be an after thought, rather I would prefer Husqvarna (and to be fair) other OEM's be proactive rather than reactive.
I own an RZ4623, "optional" mulch kit, "optional" arm rests & "optional" light kit.
Oh I added a TORO TimeCutter Engine Guard from Home Depot, it was $39 shipped to store. i had to drill two holes in the tubular frame, no biggie.
I alled today and they said they shipped the part 575 26 20-02 yesterday. Been on backorder for more than a month. We will see. I'll try and post a picture of it on here when it comes in.
Thank you for any help,
Charles
