    Question:
Just bought a t540xp and climbed with it for a week. What is the belt eyelet made out of? It seems pretty flimsy. Pleased with the saw so far.

Not sure about that eyelet either & only time will tell...  & I am wondering how is your saw running after a week? & did you have any problems with the auto tune yet?  I had problems after the 1st day & was told that it had to go to a dealer to be fine tuned/adjusted for altitude  due to it being assembled in another country etc. So off to the dealer it went & HE was NOT happy to deal with this chainsaw that I purchased from an online Tree place & was not very nice. So I am curious if you or any one has had this issue with the T540xp?

I bought my saw from a local dealer. Price was the same as online. He cut with the saw for 3 minutes, to set the auto-tune. It should self-adjust for any altitude change. After a brief warm-up, my saw has been running fine. I am in Pennsylvania and the temp has been very cold. The t540xp seems to use a lot of gas, but might get better as it breaks in. I've been a Stihl user for over 30 years. Started with the 020, then MS200T & 201T. The Husky is on par with the 200T, I would say. The Stihl is definetly  a smoother cutting saw, not as much vibration. Overall, I'm pleased with the t540xp, after about 6 or 7 tankfuls. It handles well in the tree and seems to have plenty of power. Had the bar buried in a big oak that I removed, and it did fine, except for the gas consumption.

      Jeff and William,

I have the T435, which is similar to the T540, but obviously not the same. Anyhow, My belt eyelet seems plenty strong, not really sure what the material is, it looks like mild steel and chrome plated, but could be something else. To make it easier to put a rope or strap on the saw, I purchased the short 5" strap which has a large ring on it. It makes it very easy to tie a rope to it or another strap, and the strap also makes like a back handle or hold point, if I want to lift it by the auxilliary strap. It looks real nice on the back of the saw too, with the Husqvarna name and logo on the strap.

The part number is: #HVA 531 30 00 27CHAINSAW CARRYING STRAP-5" and its also available in an 11' strap too.

On the Autotune, I started to look at the Autotune, and thought the same thing. Since I do all my own work on my chainsaws, and my dealer is quite a distance from my home, I was reluctant to get the autotune, and wondered how was the carburetor adjusted or programed for different settings. The answer is a Computer and interface cable, and software. The cable plugs from the computer, USB to a special connector that mates with the connector on the carburetor. A CD Rom disk, and cables kit are available, but most consumers are probably not going to purchase them since the Kit is around $350.-

I am sure the T540 really rocks, but also would like to know if you like it ?

The t540xp has two eyelets, a rope eyelet, which is made out of thin metal and folds flush into the saw housing, and a belt eyelet, which is some kind of plastic. It is not on the saw when you buy it, but comes with the saw. It does not fold and runs east/west as opposed to the rope eyelet, which runs north/south. You can attach saw to your belt with one hand using the belt eyelet.

      Jeff and William,

I just found a "U-tube" which does a quick explaination of  autotune: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dosLD-03yXk

Also, I have added an "attached file"  which shows a picture of the " Husqvarna Engine Diagnostic Tool Kit ".

I would Luv to play with the diagnostics - Lol.
