    Question:
drive mechanism. This is just an observation. As an engineer when I had problems with my smart cut I dug into it a little deeper. Seems the friction drive mechanism is poorly designed and will easily self destruct if you attempt to engage while you are at sea full speed. Theread is a hex shaped plastic drive hub within the friction drive that cannot take a sudden start. Such as releasing the break while at full throttle. I had to modified mine and go direct drive with it. Don't even try to replace this part as they only sell it along with a new transmission. Somewhere between $300 and $400. Good luck.
