    Question:
What is the difference between the Husqvarna 555fx and the Jonsered FC2256 outside of the obvious and also I am having trouble with comparing what is listed on/in reading material on their respective websites? There is a lack of uniformity with information formats provided by Husqvarna and Jonsered websites for use in comparison of models across brand name borders. Maybe its from too much effort to be different when they are virtually the same machines.

The Jonsered FC2256 (20.28 lbs) > is listed as being heavier than Husqvarna 555fx (19.6 lbs)? These weights actually different or were different scales calibrated differently (red might look heavier than orange or Vice Versa?

Please help me to get a more complete and competent comparison of these two clearing saws (Husqvarna 555fx compared with the Jonsered FC2256), so that I can make an informed purchase as a consumer.

    Thank You in advance,

    Jonathan
    Details:

I have spent in excess of 4 hours so far on phone and internet trying to get to information that seems hidden from consumer.  It seems like Husqvarna and Jonsered are engaged in secrecy war within the same company - I'm very frustrated with recent customer service experience and information availability. I have Husqvarna saws now, but Stihl FS560 clearing saw is looking better than it was before this difficulty in streamlining a comparison of Husqvarna and Jonsered within same company?  I love my Husqvarna equipment, but want to keep buying best without using the good old trial and error method.

Please help me to get a more complete and competent comparison of these two clearing saws (Husqvarna 555fx and the Jonsered FC2256), so that I can make an informed purchase as a consumer.

From the IPLs they appear to be the same machine just dressed differently.

And weight I found was Jonesred 19.8 and Husqvarna 19.6 without cutting attachments.

        Thanks for giving an answer.

I wish it were easier to compare the two brands (Husqvarna and Jonsered) internal and external parts.  I would like to know for certain if there is different parts/strength.  Customer service department could really use some customer assistance with improvements.  My customer service phone call was like being on a virtual mary go round that repeatedly stopped at the wrong drop off point - BIG waste of money and time as is now from my experience.  You should give phone customer service a whirl it is quite the ride ;-) .

Maybe I can find some PDFs of repair manuals to compare these brands and models external and internal parts.

Same model # isn't considered clearing saw in USA only on Canada web site. On USA website it is a combi saw - so does this mean parts or strength is different?  Stihl is looking better and easier to decide, but I liked Husqvarna and Jonsered - it is bad system for me and them.

Different parts of the world calls the same things by different names. What you calling a clearing saw we call a brush cutter here. At first the name clearing saw through me off too but I did my online research while helping others with there problems on various websites. Some the terms that get used I have to ask to a description so I can figure what they are looking for.

From the images of both they are straight shaft units which can switched over to string trimmers when needed, As a brush/clearing saw you can use different blade types; from a tri tipped blade to a blade that has the same style cutters as chainsaw chains have but mounted on a circular disc. It really depends on your needs as to which blade style you use.

These two IPLs in PDF format should help compare the two.
