Question:
hey Eugene. I originally posted comments about the defective CRV valves that were being supplied to Husqvarna in august of last year. I offered up the quick fix of rolling an old O-ring over the button and allowing it to fall between the valve and button to act as a travel limiter so that the CRV would partially retract and thereby close when the saw fired.
well I finally got a response from Husqvarna on 26 march!!!
Husqvarna continues to use that supplier to this day...
Answer
Thanks Robert for the update. It doesn't suprise me at all that they haven't change so I keep in mind. Here I use an aftermarket replacement CRVs if needed from Baileys. It is like a problem I have a MTD mower deck where MTD won't fix a problem with one of the blade brake assembly. I having to remount the brake shoe due a positioning error of the manufacture that they are refusing to fix.
I currently working on my new 445 by adding an adjustable oil pump and going from the 18" to a 20" bar, I recently rebuilt a customer's 345 and the non-adjustable oil pump didn't enough oil in the cut for the 20" bar and chain. I think have worked out the correct pump drive and clutch drum combination. I will know in about a week if I order the correct gear. The adjustable oil pump will be operating a higher rpm due pump drive gear to driven gear ratio change so the oil output should be a lot better. This is about $75 upgrade in parts for an customer plus of course labor.
This is an experiment so if I get the wrong gear it is no big lost as I would just add the parts to my inventory for later use. I do know which setup would work but just trying to match the current spur drive to the correct pump gear so a customer won't need change the spur drive if it is not necessary.
