    Question:
I bought a string trimmer 2 months ago and it has been in the shop twice for the same problem. It runs for a while then it will not start. The first time the repairman said it was a fuel problem. My question is, How do I go about getting a new trimmer covered under warranty?
    Details:

I bought a string trimmer 2 months ago and it has been in the shop twice for the same problem. It runs for a while then it will not start. The first time the repair man said it was a fuel problem. So, I mixed the fuel the way he suggested using the oil he recommended. Now it has been in the shop for a week and it still has not been repaired. This is my third Poulan string trimmer that I have had in the last 7 years. I have been satisfied with the first two, but I am not at all happy with this one.

Thank you for contacting Answer ARMY.

Fuel related failures are not warrantable, it is important to understand that fuel today does not store as well as fuel of just 2 or 3 years ago. When ever you introduce alcohol in the fuel, and nowadays the huge majority of fuel has alcohol, the fuel starts oxidizing very quickly. Fuel oxidation can also vary by climate and how tightly the fuel can is sealed. I suggest you talk with the local dealer on starting procedures as well as fuel and fuel storage. Never use fuel more than 30 days old in outdoor power equipment.
