Service & Maintenance Question posted August 26, 2012 by Andrew Kearns
    Question:
    Husqvarna 7021R Won't Start

I am unable to get my lawn mover to run more than a couple seconds at a time. See the details section for more info.
    Details:
Hi, I bought a new Huqvarna mower in May. I've only used it a handful of times, as it's been pretty dry this summer. It ran OK at first, but I noticed it starting stalling frequently after using it a couple times. The problem seemed to be the air filter, because as soon as I removed the filter and started it back up, it ran like a champ.

I bought a new air filter today and replaced it. With the brand new air filter, it would not start. Now, when I remove the filter, it will run for a couple seconds and then stall out. The only other things I changed are that I added more gas and checked the oil. Soo.. I'm pretty much stuck at this point. I tried following the instructions for a flooded engine but haven't got it to run for more than 5 seconds. Any ideas??

    Thanks,
    Andrew

Service & Maintenance Question posted February 27, 2012 by John Robinson
    Question:
I just purchased an HU775H walk behind mower. When I got it home the drive system would not move it when in grass. I returned it to the dealer and got a 2nd mower. Same problem. The grass height is not tall and it doesn't even work with the deck at its highest setting. Am I doing something wrong? This mower is supposed to work right out of the box and I'm about to take my 2nd one back. If I have to do that I'll purchase another brand.

Service & Maintenance Question posted April 18, 2013 by Mark Penko
    Question:
I bought a Husqvarna 775EX last year about midway through summer and only used it for about two months. First time using it this year and it won't start. I had already replaced air filter and spark plug, changed oil, and put in fresh gas. Took mower apart, made sure fuel line was good and carb was clean then put back together. Mower starts and runs for three seconds then shuts off. Out of ideas, I called customer service and based on everything I told them they figured that the mower needs a carb adjustment. I can not believe that this is not covered under warranty. Only two months of use and I am already paying to fix this and the nearest service center is over an hour away. So add in the cost of gas to the service center and in less than a year I am already going to be paying over a hundred dollars to get my mower to run. Last Husqvarna I will ever buy and will not recommend to friends or family. Terribly disappointed in a product I had heard good reviews on. As an active duty member of the military, had this happened to my wife while I was deployed I would be dropping this mower off at the company headquarters.

    Question:
Just purchased a HU775H/961450007 and it wouldn't drive the rear wheels - adjusted the drive cable and got it to move along flat ground, small inclines wouldn't drive, tightend drive cable more, still wouldn't start on a slight hill but would go if i pushed it, but that defeats the object of having a powered mower - it squeels like a stuck pig when it is trying to move will it ever move smoothly up an incline? or should i buy a differnt mower, my previous mowers have never had this problem on the same incline - i have read other similar complaints on the drive mechanism on this site - sounds like a problem, it's brand new so i will probably justt return it and get a different brand unless someone has a simple solution.

I have a brand new Husqvarna walk behind real wheel drive...Answeredescalated3
Service & Maintenance Question posted July 21, 2011 by Steven Giessler
    Question:
I have a brand new Husqvarna walk behind real wheel drive self propelled lawn mower model HU800HW. I just bought it last week and it works quite well overall but a couple of questions:

    1. The gears for the wheels made a grinding sound on the left side. I took it apart and can see the large gear (inside the wheel) and the smaller gear (connected to the drive unit) were not quite meshing together properly when the wheel spins (these 2 gears always stay locked together normally). I swapped the left and right wheels and the noise went away for the most part. The dealer I bought it from said there are different part numbers for the left and right wheels and maybe the wrong wheel was put on the left side. Is that possible?

    2. The gears in question 1 above do not have ANY grease on them. They are totally dry. Should they have grease? And if so, what kind? The dealer I bought them from thought they should have some grease on them and recommended regular automotive grease although some people in forum online said I should use high temperature/pressure lithium grease. What do you recommend for these gears?

    3. The mower drive wheels lock up when trying to pull the mower backwards more than a couple of feet. Is this a feature to prevent it from rolling back onto the person mowing? It makes it very difficult to mow since half the time with a push mower (even self-propelled) you have to pull it backwards to maneuver it around objects. This could be a deal breaker for this mower - I'd really hate to return it. Maybe tell the R&D folks to fix this in next year's model if it can't be disabled. Is there a way to disable this feature?

    4. This is more of a comment - the side discharge chute that I had to wait to receive in the mail should either come with the mower or at least be available at the place of purchase (dealer) optionally. Many people complained about this on the forums - if you don't want to bag or mulch (which doesn't work with taller grass) - you can't use the mower until you get the side discharge chute. It would be better if you didn't make folks who bought the mower have to wait for that part if they know that is how they are going to be using the mower.

Why won't my XT722FE lawn mower start up using the key...Answered3

    Question:
Why won't my XT722FE lawn mower start up using the key start?
    Details:

I have a XT722FE lawn mower equipped with key start switch. I have just purchased it, and I let it charge for 24 hours before using it. However, when I went to crank the mower up using the key, it did not crank or even make a noise. I was holding the Operator Presence Control Bar down and everything. After trying a couple more times, I just cranked it manually and it started perfectly. I am charging the battery box again just in case. Does anybody know what might be wrong?

    Question:
I have a Husqvarna HU800AWD mower with a Honda GCV190 engine. I've ben told this mower MUST use:
92 octane gas with NO ETHANOL
    5W-30 full synthetic motor oil
    NKG 509 spark plug
I must ad 1 or 2 fuel filter in the fuel line
Must use a high capacity air filter with a pre filter in front and back of the air filter
    Is any of this necessary?

    I just bought a brand new Husqvarna self-propelled 173cc...Answered1
Service & Maintenance Question posted June 12, 2010 by Rich
    Question:
I just bought a brand new Husqvarna self-propelled 173cc walk behind lawn mower (model # 917.377231) from Sears. I love the mower but sometimes it's hard to start. When it's cold it takes a couple of pulls to start (not what a person wants from a brand new mower). When I shut it off after mowing for a while and then restart it, it putters. I then shut it off again and restart it until it's starts correctly.

I need to know what's going on and if there's a choke system with this mower (I don't see one). I also need to know if I should bring it back to Sears for repair.

    Question:
I have a Husqvarna lawn Mover (walk behind, serial number 110909M000607) That is brand new (only used 3 times). It will not run unless the choke is wedged open all the way. Please provide assistance.

Also, this mower did not have an air filter in it (just noticed that today). Should it and if so, what is the model number and type I should get.

    Thank you.

    Question:
775H ex (2012) stopped running and will not restart. Mowed under a small bush and the engine stopped and will not restart. Maybe spring missing. I need a detailed diagram for the model/775H to see the spring locations and connections.
