Service & Maintenance Question posted May 2, 2011 by Wayne Smith
I just bought a 125B blower to replace a blower that had given 10+ years of service. This was purchased at Lowe's so it came home in a box, no initial 'set-up' provided. After quick assembly and fueling, the unit started instantly. But it would not accerate. High speed jet required adjusting,,,only you can't adjust the jet with the 'new' splined head. A quick trip to Lowe's for the tool to adjust the carb. But I was told you can't buy the tool, EPA regulations. What!?? So I returned the unit to Lowe's for an exchange as per their recommendation. The THIRD blower did perform somewhat. I'm a mechanical engineer who designs transmissions for off road equipment and I am a mechanic. I made a tool that works fine but it makes a statement about the quality of Husqvarna that I got a so-so unit on my second exchange. I took great offense at the recommendation that a trip to an "authorized' service center is required to perform a simple carb adjustment.

    Model 125B Blower, SN 20074005605 (13:13)
The operators manual under Technical Data specifies a Champion RCJ8Y spark plug. I replaced a Champion RCJ7Y Champion spark plug after takling to customer support to verify an 8Y was correct after observing what I believed to be the original was a 7Y. The blower, which previously NEVER operated poorly, clearly did not like the specified 8Y spark plug. It dies, it missed, it ran rough and I am concerned I may have damaged the motor by running the called for 8Y spark plug. Today I cleaned and reinstalled the old 7Y spark plug and the blower ran great. I believe the Tehcnical Data for this model blower is incorrect and want to talk to someone at Husqvarna who knows the subject matter. E-mail votestu@yahoo.com

I have a backpack blower mod # 145bt that my father-in-law bought about 3 years ago. It has always leaked gas from the gas cap. I have bought 2 new caps, and broke 2 caps, trying to solve this problem. From what I read on the Internet this was a common problem with this model. And yes the cap does have the rubber seal in it. It seems like a waste to have such a nice blower sitting around not being used because of gas leaking all over you when using it. Is there a fix for this? Thanks for your time and help.

I just bought a 350 BT blower. Besides blowing leaves I would like to use it to clean the gutters on my ranch house from the ground (no ladder). The only gutter accessory kit I see listed is for use with smaller blowers. I can buy or make one - any suggestions?

Service & Maintenance Question posted August 17, 2010 by lex
Brand new blower quit working. New blower less than a month old and I have used about 1 hr total. I was using it yesterday and after about 15 minutes it just quit with 1/2 a tank of fuel. I couldn't get it restarted after trying for quite a while. I waited about 3 hours and tried again in case I flooded the engine while trying to restart with no luck. I tried again today and never got it to turn over once. Fuel is still moving up the line when the rubber fuel bulb is depressed.

I followwd the exact directions for starting and I know how to mix the fuel correctly.

    Any Ideas?

Husqvarna 356BT. When it gets hot it stops running. Replaced the fuel, ignition and carburetor. The new carb- started second pull and ran great for about 1/2 hour, then died like it ran out of fuel. Whats next?

I have a 125B Husqvarna 125B leaf blower. Has worked great for three or four years (I don't recall exactly when I bought it). Suddenly it hardly runs. Had to keep choking it and now it won't start at all. Replaced the spark plug and gas/oil mixture and cleaned the air filter. Still won't run.

    Suggestions?

    Rattle noise in engine normal?

Ok, my story continues. As you may see, I have two other posts about a 150BT and a 350BT back back blower. To recap, the 150BT worked well for six months, then it developed an internal rattle noise in the engine, sounding like loose marbles. I did get worse and I did take it in, and it was replaced with a 350BT after almost 2 months. I am greatful that it was replaced and not repaired. Now, I just used the 350BT blower and it made a similar noise from the engine on the first use. I had my local Husky dealer mix my oil and gas to verify it is correct. Is this noise normal and to be expected? if so I am not going to worry about it and enjoy it. If it is not normal I'm going to be severly disappointed. My other Husky equipment does not make any rattle noises like the blower. Please advise me if there are similar concerns about this noise and put my mind at ease.

I have a husqvarna model 125b blower that just stoped running. I pulled the spark plug and it appears that that I have fuel but when I pulled it through a couple of times I could not see or hear any spark. Do you know if this model has had problems with the ignition moduels?
