     This problem has been solved-I ended up having to get someone to come over and take a look at it.  Apparently the bagger attachment is quite finicky.  If the bagger is not closed then the blades do not engage.  Every time this happens now, all I have to do is to open and close the bagging attachment using that lifter bar thingy (I am really not mechanically inclined as you can probably guess).  There is a certain sound when it shuts tightly.  You also have to make sure you clean out all the grass from arournd the bagging sensor and make sure the grass discharge shoot is clean and not clogged.
