Service & Maintenance Question posted November 16, 2013 by William Fedor in Poulan Pro: Ask & Answer > Tractors public
I have a poulan pro, model PB195H42LT I bought new on 9/19/07. Have had all maintenance done at local dealer. Started to have problems end of last year with drive. This spring I had dealer check everything out, told him I was having trouble mowing and towing up grades at times. Got mower back and seemed ok, then started having problems on and off again. Now, more times with problems than without. He said he chainged the drive belt in May but I'm to the point I can hardly make the mower go forward unless it is pointed down slope. And I'm talking a rise of less that 3%. He thinks it is the transmission. $700. Wants to sell me a new one. I had a lawn mower like this from Sears previously, with the same time of transmission drive and never had a problem. It also has away to adjust the main drive belt tension, which I cannot find in this owners manual. When I first start it up, it runs ok, then after a couple of minutes it goes into this I can't go, except down hill mode. Please give me your comments.
