Service & Maintenance Question posted August 10, 2013 by Norm Eby in Husqvarna: Ask & Answer > String Trimmers public
I have had a Husqvarna 128LD string trimmer for a couple of years. All of a sudden it will only run as long as the gas in the carb lasts- a few seconds. It promptly restarts after priming, but again dies when the carb is empty. I infer that the fuel pump is not working. I have done extensive troubleshooting, checking gaskets, gas filter, fuel lines, filter,"pulse" to fuel pump, even bought another carb-same problem. The tank is vented and leaving the cap loose changes nothing. Is there a reed valve in this engine like some of the old 2-stroke engines used? I'm using very expensive non-alcoholic gas as well.I'm at wit's end; this is not rocket science.
