I have the same problem. The first time it burnt my arm so bad that I had a very large blister on the inside of my right forearm. Yes you can hold it at a funny angle and not get burnt, but try doing that for very long and get any work done. I' ve tried twice to post this problem on the Husqvarna web site, and wouldn't you know it keeps getting rejected for not meeting their standards. I guess only positive comments are acceptable to them.
I had the same problem. Exchanged it for a broke stater recoil, now this year when it's out of warranty, it broke again. Local repair shop says they see a lot of these as the pulley inside the starter is a cheap plastic part. Wondered why all the reviews on the Husvarna web site praise this model, till I tried twice to post what has happened to mine, and they keep rejecting my post.
Take it back for an exchange under the warranty. I had the same problem the first month on mine. Talking to the local Dealer this is a common problem with this trimmer. Pulley inside that holds the recoil spring is a cheap plastic part.
