    Question:
    Husqvarna YTH23V48 Cracked Frame 22hrs.
I am very displeased with my Husqvarna YTH23V48 mower, it only has twenty two hours on it and the frame has cracked two times. With only eight hours the mower was delivering intermittent torque to the rear wheels, thus prohibiting the rider to start the tractor in a slow and smooth fashion. This was the first time I took it in for repair. The service technician advised me that the drive belt had a “bad spot” in it so he replaced the v-drive belt.
Only after installation of the new v-belt drive, he noticed two light cracks where the transmission is mounted to the frame. We discussed the matter and welding the two light cracks was to be a permanent repair, I authorized the repair. Now at twenty two hours the mower has started to torque again and the drive belt came off of the transmission pulley. After inspection the frame where the transmission bolts up has two new cracks much larger than the first.
This metal is unacceptable for the weight of the mower and I request that you issue a service bulletin to all owners as this has happened to me twice with very little mowing. I planned to use this mower this fall for leaf pickup and mulch hauling however, at the present time I am unable to do so. The mower technician wanted me to discuss this defect with you before he renders any further repairs to the tractor frame.
The owner’s manual for this tractor states a warranty period of five years on the frame, chassis and front axle. This frame is weak, not only myself but other have experienced this problem. Please address this issue.
    Thanks
