I have recently purchased a 455-20" Rancher on E-Bay purported to be new. However it is in a blue box when all the saws in my local stores are in yellow boxes. The serial number is 2012 1100190, which is not preceded by a RM designation.
How can I determine if a this is legitimately new or a re-manufactured unit? How does Husqvarna designate their new vs their re-manufactured units?

The Husqvarna saws were shipped in Blue and Orange boxes. The serial number on your saw looks OK, it says it is a 2012 model. Reconditioned saws always have an "R" somewhere on the serial number plate.
However, for it to be considered New and covered under warranty, the saw must be sold by an authorized Husqvarna Dealer.
