      Tom,

What model chainsaw do you have, and do you know what year it was manufactured ? You stated that it has fuel, Is it fresh fuel with the proper engine oil mix? If its older fuel that was stored in the chainsaw, then get a recycle container empty it out and put in some fresh fuel. Also if it was old fuel, you may want to check your fuel tank filter, and make sure it is still white, and not yellowish or brown, if it is then just replace it.

Does your chainsaw have a primer bulb, make sure  you pump it 5 or 6 times, which moves the fuel from the tank and through the caburetors' fuel pump. Does the fuel stay in the primer bulb after pumping it? If not you may have a bad check valve in the primer bulb, and it will need to be replaced,

When you try to start the engine, and its in the choke position, Can you hear a pop or burb like the engine has fired ?How many times did you pull on the starter cord ? If more than a few times (like 3) then you may have flooded the engine, when starting an engine if after 2-3 pulls you don't hear the engine try to start, then stop pulling there is something wrong. If you did pull the cord more than a few times, than try clearing the engine by putting the engine in a warm start (following your owners manual directions) but when you pull on the cord to start, hold the trigger wide open, this additional air will help clear the flooded engine, Just be aware since your holding the trigger for full throttle, then the chainsaw will try to start at a high speed. After it starts and runs let it warm up for a few seconds then release the trigger. If it was excess fuel it also will smoke initially until the excess fuel and engine oil is burned off. It may take 3 pulls with wide open throttle until the engine starts in this fashion.

If it still won't start, remove your spark plug, and check to see if its wet or dry, If its dry then you may have a carburetor problem, and I would suggest checking the carburetor, fuel lines, and hoses. Oh, also I would make sure the air filter is clean too, an engine will not start if it does not get sufficient air.

If its an older chainsaw, then I would probably suggest some additional things to check, but without knowing the Model and Year, that may be difficult for me to provide accurate information of things to check. Also if your not familar with carburetors, then i would rcommend you may want to have an Authorized Repair center check or test your chainsaw.

I hope this helps, Please let me know what model and year, and I will be glad to try and help you further.

PS. I am Not a Husqvarna Representative or an Authorized Repair, just an experimental chainsaw person
