are your service manuals copy righted?

The reason I ask is I prefer to work on my equipment myself and I have a Husqvarna 51chain saw. I went on ebay and purchased a shop service manual and a parts manual from an individual and what I received was not a book it was a photo copy of a service manual and a photo copy of a parts manual. The seller said it is a print out of his digital manuals. Still I believe this is in violation of your copy rights. I gave him negative feed back, but he protests saying that he did nothing wrong. If you agree that this is not in violation of your copy rights I will change my feed back. If it is indeed an infringement of your copy rights I will give you his Ebay name. Thank you

Normally anything printed or in digital formal is copyrighted by the original author(s). There is normally an allowance for reproduce cost if not expressly forbidden. You need to contact Husqvarna Customer Service as this is just public forum and specific questions like should be referred to customer service.
As for paying for these copies I could have provided you with a digital copy of the 51 service manual free of charge and still can if you would like a copy of it. As for the parts manual that can be freely downloaded from Husqvarna's website and is available for viewing at most online Husqvarna part dealers.
