    Question:
I own a 445 xTorq chainsaw. I just bought a new bar and blade and have been sawing a downed white and red oak. After about a cord of wood, the bar (and chain) begin to smoke. I keep the chain sharp. Today I went to grease the sprocket on the new bar an noticed that there is not a grease port on the replacement (Husqvarna) bar... Why would the new bar not have a grease port?

I thinking the school of thought here is that it should receiving a enough oil thru normal chain oiling. Also many users never greased in the first place. Matter of fact I never grease any bar tips myself until I started working on these saws professionally.

As for bar and chain smoking you should check that the oiling system is working properly as these do wear out over time and the gears strip out.
