    Question:
    Starting a 122C String Trmmer
    Details:

I just bought a 122C trimmer. I am having trouble starting it in accordance with instructions, i.e.: Push bulb several times, pull up choke, pull starter till you meet resistance, then pull hard. Repeat pulling starter till it starts. It starts rough and quits.  Most of the time I end up pushing choke back in and holding in throttle and pulling cord a few time and it starts. Could it be due to very warm weather, it does not need choke and should be started as though it is a restart?

Thank you for contacting the AnswerARMY.

The engine will need to be choked, if it has been more than an hour since it was started. The "starts rough and quits" is what we call false start and what you should listen for. Once you hear the unit pop or false start you should push the choke partway in then pull recoil to start once the unit starts push the choke the rest of the way in. Squeeze and release trigger to take off fast idle. Allow unit to warm up at idle before using.

    Hope this helps.
