    Question:
I recently bought a model 4218AV, after having problems with 2 other smaller models. I just registered it after purchasing 4-2-13. Its been so cold and wet, today (4-30) was the first chance to use it. I followed all instructions, filled with chain oil, and started. Immediately the saw began to smoke and smell hot (I might add I had the same problems with the other ones). Thinking it was just "new:" burning off, I continued to warm the engine until I smelled BURNING plastic. I stopped and took the cover off, and there was solidified, melted plastic around the bar and chain. Its the same reason I took the other 2 saws back. The service center I took it to locally said the brake and clutch had melted on them. Thats why I wanted to upgrade to a better model. WHAT AM I DOING incorrectly if anything?>
