I just bought an ST 324p and after what little assembly there was for me to do i have some spare parts left over. Could someone tell me what a PN 587421005 JN would be for?

Hi Phil, congrats on your 324p, very nice machine. Your part is called "shield deflector". It goes on your chute deflector. The holes are already pre-drilled so all you have to do is bolt it on. In the bag you should have the bolts, nuts, and brackets. My 924HVX did not come with it so I ordered one and since the holes are pre-drilled it was so easy to install. Enjoy your new machine.
