    Question:
    Hello,
I just purchased a Rancher 455 about 2 weeks ago and it hasn't run right since day one. I can get it started, but it will not idle without some throttle applied. then if it does die, it will not start for about 5 hours. I use all factory oil, bar and gas mixture. Really disappointed with this saw so far, will this be covered under warranty? Maybe I should have spent a little more and bought a Stihl?

Normally it would sound like carb adjustment problem but you added in the won't start for 5 hrs after it dies which can be a number things.

Contact your local dealer where you purchase the saw for service on this. They will need to do a first hand inspection of the saw to see if they will cover it under warranty as they need to know exactly what causing the problem.

take it back and get a refund.  if it is brand new and will not perform then get your money back.  teach these geniuses a lesson.

if you can't get your money back, then I will explain what to do in order to get it running correctly.

Took it to the dealer and he had the same problem I did.  He said he couldn't get it to idle or start after it died.  Even adjusting the carb.  Said nothing was my fault. He took it all apart and put it back together and now it runs perfect.  He said he sees a lot of saws come from the factory not out together right.  Scary stuff.  He is going to keep it a another day just to make sure it fires up randomly and runs well.  I guess I should have bought a stihl.  No way can I recommend husky now.

Glad to finally here of a dealer doing the right thing. I know Husqvarna had a rough 2014 year with the re-organzation and the bringing of newly acquired companies online. I am hoping this year we all will great improvement in all areas related to Husqvarna.

With taking the saw and putting it back together and it now runs sound like something was out place. Hopefully he has resolved the problem for you. Just a little curious of what the actual problem was in case we run across one.
