I have exaclty the same problem with the same system. It seeems like junk. EXTREME frustration to put the belt back on and watch it pop right off. My dealer said the belt was worn out, but I only mowed the lawn twice. Someone had retuned this mower because they did not like it, so my dealer sold it to me as new with 3 year parts and labor warrentee and threw in the bagger for no extra cost. I THOUGHT it was a great deal until I realized how wide the system is (cant get it in the pickup truck. Anyhow, I'm really sick about it. I'd love to know if you get any lasting solution. I wish I could just reverse my purchase.
I bet it's a great mower as long as you don't want to pick up clippings. But we especailly wanted to pick up clippings and leaves.
Gary, that is exactly what happens to me, I put the belt on and it pops right back off as soon as the mower engages. VERY poor design, and there is no adjustment in the pulleys on the blower unit. There are 'keeper' tabs I guess meant to help hold the belt in place on the pulleys, but these are useless. My cheap Craftsman mower/bagger combo I had before this did a better job than this, maybe I should try and get it back.
I purchased a yth24v48ls and mowed with it for a while before adding the bagger with high hopes of continued good performance. The bagger worked terribly. It threw the belt countless times and even destroyed 3 belts before I stopped trying to use it. The best remedy I found was to trade it in on a John Deere 2210 with a 62 inch deck. The Husqvarna cut very nice and was trouble free other than the horrendous performance from the bagger. Unfortunately at $800.00 for the bagger, three $75.00 belts and several trips to the dealer looking for a solution, I reached my limit and got rid of the whole package including the snow plow. I won't be purchasing another Husqvarna tractor and that disappoints me because I have been very pleased with my chainsaw. All told the tractor, bagger and snowplow cost around $4000. A very expensive mistake. I will be going green from now on.
Patrick,
These bagger systems can be difficult to set up properly. Your dealer should be able to assist you with this unit. The blower, if not mounted securely can throw the belt.
Thanks for your question
