    Question:
I'm a very dissatisfied Poulan customer.
I bought a Poulan blower in fall of 2010. I used it that fall and this past fall in a non-commercial way. It ran OK but cord came out in my hand when I tried to start it this past fall. I just brought it to a local small engine guy. He said, "It's too costly to fix. Throw it out. I'd have to take it all apart to fix it. It's not worth it." What say you? Fred 978-454-0794

    Fred,

We regret to note starter cord failure on your Poulan blower.

Starter Cord wear is not normally a warranty covered condition if just the cord has worn/failed. However, if one of the other physical components of the starter mechanism has failed due to a material fault, the warranty coverage would apply.

At this point, we can only suggest you have the previous service dealer, or another dealer in your area, give you an estimate of the labor charge to check for possible part failure. Having that cost beforehand may assist in your decision whether to pursue repair of the unit if the condition found is not warrantable.
