How do I remove the tap advance head to replace with a tine style trimmer head

On most trimmer gearboxes there is hole that you insert a metal rod to lock the drive so the head can removed. Once locked turn the head opposite of the normal rotation too remove. To install the new head follow the instructions that came with it.
