Corey - can't answer your question directly. Doing a bit of research before buying a new mower. Based on this research the YT48DXLS comes with an OX series trans which includes a locking differential. As a minimum I believe a K62 or hopefully a K66 trans, which are stronger and with more features than the Stryder (K46) trans. The K62 has up to 27% more torque capacity and the K66 has up to 81% more torque capacity than the K46 trans in the lesser expensive mowers.
This assessment is based on numerous posts I have read in other forums and specs provided on the TuffTorq website: http://www.tufftorq.com/product/ox-yt
I am interested in a new 2017 model GT48DXLS which includes a K66 trans and the new mowing deck of your tractor. Haven't been able to find them yet at my local dealers.
I am not looking to tow anything other than a roller and a small yard trailer for mulch. I was just curious what kind of weighted roller it could handle (ie 400 lbs, 750 lbs, etc.). Just could find any answers in the manual or on line.
I know Corey but the K46 isn't design for towing. I got a 17 cu ft trailer and the Craftsman with the same transaxle couldn't pull it up my driveway half loaded with mulch. I ended up putting the mower in bypass and used my MTD Bolens to pull both up the driveway.
Now there better Hydros that can. I got one customer with a Craftsman that actually plows his garden with the mower but it is the GT (garden tractor) series and not the YT (yard tractor) series.
Answer
The Tuff Torq K46 has a very limited towing capacity. Personally I would not be towing any thing with it if you expect the unit to last.
