    Question:
Purchased a 150BT blower from Lowes and just pulled it from the box. After assembly/adding fuel, the blower won't roll over. The recoil start moves freely and I can feel the pawl engaging, but the engine fails to rotate...in other words it's jammed. Called Lowes and they suggested it might be vapor locked and asked me to remove the spark plug and try pulling on it...never seen a small 2 cycle engine "vapor lock" but ok, I humored them and did it anyway...no luck. I'm hoping for a solution that I can deal with locally. I live on an island 250 air miles from the store and they won't pick up the shipping...which will end up costing more than the machine. Help please.

I figured it out. I removed the recoil start cord assy and then the sparkplug to eliminate the chance of any compression. I tried turning the engine over by hand but the rotation was only about 1 inch and then it jammed up tight. I could see the piston moving up and down slightly as i rocked it back and fourth so at least I knew that was free. I then took a 14mm socket, placed it over the nut on the housing and barred it over slightly to see if it would free up. After a bit of resistance, it started to rotate and then suddenly broke free. It rotates by hand easily now. I suspect the nut may have been over-torqued during assembly at the factory and it left without being rotated. Anyway, it started on the first try and runs like a champ now.

Glad it worked out the way it did...I really didn't want to disassemble anything on a new machine out of concern for warranty, but given my location and the amount of money it would have cost to send it out,  it was worth taking the risk
