    Question:
Husqvarna Filing Kit for 3/8" Low Profile (Mini) Pitch Chainsaw Chain 531300080 with Oregon 90PX chain.
    Details:

Used your roller files in a Game of Logging Workshop and loved them.  I am getting conflicting answers on whether the 53100080 can be used with Oregon 90PX chain.

    Baileys says:

This kit comes with a 5/32 round file suitable for 3/8 low profile chain (Oregon 90,91 series).

The problem with the Swedish Roller® on 90PX is the ramped depth gauge will interfere with the clearance, throwing the angles off.

    But Oregon says:

The correct file size for the 90 series chain is the 4.5 mm ,  the 3/16 is too big.  You can use the 5/32” as it converts to 4.0mm (roughly)  the 90 has just a smidgen (technical term) bigger gullet  -  the 4.5 mm can be difficult to find in retail stores so the is why lots of people just use the 5/32

but they did not say anything about the guide.

With the 90PX being .043 gauge chain it is likely is use on the one of the pole saws out there as most homeowner chainsaws are normally using .050 gauge. The 90PX has larger bumper link to reduce kickback so you can plunge cut with less chance of kick back. It also has a thinner kerf which is used on lower powered saws to make seems more powerful as there is less drag.

Personally I haven't seen or used the Swedish roller setup but I have found not all chain sharping tools will work with all the styles of chains. I either use the round files free hand or use one of the flat guides. The main problem like the Swedish roller they don't account for different style bumper links and depth gauges. Even some the depth gauge tools will with all the different bumper links and depth gauges.

For the 11/64 (4.5 mm) files the Oregon part number is 31692 for the filing guide kit and PN 70511 for box of 12 round files. Several places online carries them. Amazon is one.

As Oregon said in your quoted text the 5/32 will work fine and just produces just a little more hook on the cutter. I haven't had any complaints from my Stihl chainsaw operators that file the same Stihl spec chains.

One note on filing guide style that looks like above Oregon kit some places will sell one guide to fit all round files will produces incorrect hook on the cutter.  I currently have the 5/32, 3/16, and 7/32 guide plates but haven't a simple depth gauge filing tool. The one depth tool I did buy indicated even brand new chain depth gauges were already over done. For the depth I use a plastic gauge place across the cutters to get my initial depth gauge on few depth gauge and then file all the gauge the same way.

Just independent small engine shop owner and not with Husqvarna.

That helps but I am still looking to figure out if I can use this Husqvarna roller guide:

      www.baileysonline.com/Chainsaw-Chain/Files-Filing-Accessories/Chain-Filing-Guides/Husqvarna-Filing-Guides/Husqvarna-Filing-Kit-for-3-8-Low-Profile-Mini-Pitch-Chainsaw-Chain-531300080.axd

How is it that this kit works with these chains:

      61PMN, 61PMMC3, 61PM1 and 90SG, 43RG, N4C, N4C-BL

      but not with

      90PX

      even though this page:

      www.baileysonline.com/Pages/Chainsaw-Chain-Cross-Reference-Chart/

lists them as the same chain?

Is there really something that makes the 90PX different from all the others?
