Trying to replace this, bought correct belt, have it routed correctly, but will not fit...almost 3 inches from the pulley. Purchased another one just in case it was packaged incorrectly, still way off. Watched video on you tube...everything in place just like him yet he puts it on with ease. What is wrong???
Someone at Lowe's suggested going to a 60" belt when I have a 54". Haven't tried that because frankly I feel that this should work without me having to finagle.

Check your belt routing. This picture should help. Pay carefully attention on how the belt goes around the flat idler pulleys. BTW the deck v-belt is 154" x 5/8". Now if your trying to replace the transmission drive which 57" x 1/2" there is different part number but you listed the deck belt part number.
