    Question:
I purchased a 22" Husqvarna lawn mower (rear wheel drive, Honda engine) from Sears last week. The mulching function works very poorly. The grass clumps up inside the housing and before long the blade is hitting the clump every rotation. There is clearly a little cavity inside the housing where the grass builds up. Is there some way to correct the problem? If not, I will probably return the lawnmower to Sears in the next couple of days.

Thank you for contacting the AnswerARMY.

It is upsetting that you have experienced this concern.

In mulching it is important to mow correctly, never try to cut more than one inch of grass per pass, never cut if the grass is wet or has dew. If you follow this the mulching should work well, if you are trying to tame a lawn that had been neglected you should either discharge the first mowing or two or use a collection system to capture and dispose of the bulk grasses.
