    Problem:
The chainsaw will not start and run.
    Cause:
Improper starting procedure, The customer is not following the proper starting procedure as outlined in the operators manual. Follow proper starting procedure as described in the operators manual.
    Steps:

    Starting a Cold Engine:

    • Step 1
The Chain brake should be engaged when starting the saw. To engage the chain brake, push the front hand guard forward until there is an audible "click."
    • Step 2
Set the start stop switch in the choke position by pulling the red choke control outward and upward.
    • Step 3
Press the decompression valve, this reduces pressure in the cylinder which makes the saw easier to start. Once the saw fires and or starts the decompression valve will reset to its original position.
    • Step 4
Press primer bulb (air purge) 10 times or until fuel begins to fill the bulb and return to the fuel tank.S
    • Step 5
Grip the front handle firmly with your left hand and hold the saw on the ground by placing your right foot through the rear handle.
    • Step 6
Firmly grip the starter handle with your right hand.
    • Step 7
Slowly pull out the cord with the starter handle until you feel some resistance (the starter engaging); then pull the starter handle in a quick yet powerful motion.(CATION Do not pull the starter cord out all the way and do not let go of the starter handle when starter cord is pulled out as this can damage the unit). NEVER WRAP THE STARTER CORD AROUND YOUR HAND!.
    • Step 8
Repeat Step 7 until the engine attempts to run.
    • Step 9
Push down the red choke control and repeat Step 7-9 until engine runs, let the unit idle for about 15 seconds (to warm up).
    • Step 10
If the engine dies pull the red choke control outward and upward and repeat Step 7-9 until engine runs, let the unit idle for about 15 seconds (to       warm up). Then lightly touch the throttle to open the choke fully and reduce engine idle speed. (This will prevent damage to the chain brake           assembly)

    Starting a Warm Engine:

    • Step 1
Push down the red choke control and repeat Step 7-9 until engine runs, let the unit idle for about 15 seconds (to warm up).
    • Step 2
If the engine dies pull the red choke control outward and upward and repeat Step 7-9 until engine runs, let the unit idle for about 15 seconds (to warm up). Then lightly touch the throttle to open the choke fully and reduce engine idle speed. This will prevent damage to the chain brake assembly.

Where is the decompression valve on a model 235?
      • robert smith

the CRV will always be on the jug somewhere. usually on top. you need to view the IPL for the 235 to be certain there is a CRV on that model.

I am a professional mechanic with unsurpassable skill and technical knowledge in the realm of repairing and re-building any and all chainsaws.

I purchased Husqvarna 576XP G last month and received a brand new saw that could not be started, or run.  the compression relief valve was stuck open and as we know,  your saw cannot start if that valve will not close.  I ran all the tests that a diagnostic tech would run in order to determine the cause for a "NO-START" situation, before finally arriving at the CRV as the cause.

if you would have posted a bulletin to be helpful, I would have saved my-self a lot of time and aggravation. now I check that valve 1st, not last.

it is very hard to believe that Husqvarna could send saws into the market that can't run, but now I know it to be the plain truth.

      incomprehensible...
