    Question:
I'm extremely dissatisfied with my purchase of a new PP6600 generator. The unit failed to produce power after only a few hours of operation. I used the power chord provided with the generator to operate a refrigerator, a TV and some lamps. The generator output gradually dwindled down until there was no power produced at all. I called the hotline on my owner's manual, and brought the unit to a service provider that your hotline recommended. The service manager told me that the stator assy was bad, and when he called your company for warranty coverage, he never received a reply. He also told me that from past experience, your company always denies warranty on stator assemblies, because you always blame the consumer for improper operation of the unit. I am now stuck with a generator that does not produce power, and it needs a repair that will cost more than the purchase price. I will be forced to file a consumer complaint against your company.
    Details:

The PP6600 generator has a recall posted against it for creating a fire hazard. In the parts listing for the PP6600 posted on your website, the stator assembly original part number has been superceded by a new substitute part number. It seems that there is a known defect with this part that your company does not want to take responsibility for. You need to honor your warranty comittment with your customers and provide me with a new --and reliable unit.

Hi and thanks for using the Answer Army to post you questions and comments.

I'm sorry for your experience at one our service center. I have included a link so that you can find another dealer close to home.

After dealer performs his evaluation on machine the dealer is to call in and speak with a technical adviser. There is no reason that we would deny this claim, as long as it is a manufacture defect we will cover the cost of the repair. Also part numbers are superceded on the regular basis, this is not due to problems with parts. I have seen some parts superced as much as 7 times on some of our older machines. As for the fire hazard, we had a problem with the carburetor manufacture that we use but that should have been corrected if the box that contained your unit had a green dot on it.

Dealer needs to check for bulletins relating to carburetor as some units have been updated per bulletin

I hope this helps, and thanks again for using the Answer Army.
