    Question:
    replace bump head on 525ls
    Details:

We have the Husqvarna 525ls trimmer and cannot figure out how to remove the bump head from the trimmer.  There is no information in the owners manual on how to do this and even after finding information on how it should come off, the head simply will not come off.   Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

On the topside of gear head there is a hole that the locking pin goes in to. Approximately 1/8-3/16 pin. Once you insert the pin while pressing on it rotate the trimmer head until pin drop into the lock position then you simple unscrew the head. This is in the same direction  as the head spins. Might be RH or LH threaded.

Thanks for the help.  We did find the hole and have been able to get the pin to drop into the lock position.  However, the head simply will not budge in either direction.   We have even gone out and purchased a strap wrench to put around the head to get some leverage to turn the head and it simply will not budge.   Darn thing is only a few months old.  I guess we are going to have to empty the gas out of the unit and try taking it to a shop and have them remove it for us.    Thanks for the help
