    Question:
Replaced transmission and drive belt on HU725BBC. The mower now moves forward without drive handles being engaged. What might be wrong? Thanks. Tim Davis

If the belt is routed correctly then the belt is probably too short. I have been problems all year when my aftermarket supplier sending belts that don't even match printed on the belt sleeves. This why I have dropped them for replacement belts.

Last year every belt I got in for the Hu625HWT also known as the HU675HWT were short even the OEM belts. Finally found one the worked but it took mods the equipment to even get it work.

It appears that the belt you is a 3/8" x 35" but not 100% sure as Husqvarna is hiding that info.Even as a tech I need that info to verify that I received the correct belts.

Eugene, thanks for the response. I bought the part at an authorized Husqvarna dealer. I actually gave the dealer the part number from the mower's parts list.A friend who is experienced with mower repairs installed it for me (a hassle for sure).  I'll double check with the dealer to be sure I was sold the correct belt. If you can once you get the belt let me know as I would for future reference here.

Currently I show the 532406557 has been superseded to 580364604 but have no info on exact size involved.

Eugene, the part number on the receipt from the dealer is 532406557 which is the number on the parts list i printed in 2014. I'll let you know what the dealer says after my visit today. Thanks again. Tim

Eugene, Well the Husqvarna dealer said the part number I was sold is the correct part number but he couldn't be sure I actually got the right belt unless he looked at it. He did suggest that because the belt is new it was most likely tight and that that could cause my problem. He suggested I adjust the cable, which I had already done. He also suggested that the belt might be installed incorrectly on the pulley. He did not have a schematic of how the belt should look installed - only the parts diagram that io already have. Next step is to ask my mechanic friend to revisit the work done. Tim

Eugene, The fellow who replaced the transmission and the belt inspected his work and determined that he had put the new belt on the wrong side of the belt guide. He fixed that problem and the mower works as it should.

Thank you for the update. Things like this is why I field test all my repairs because it can easily happen before I release the equipment back to the customer.
