    I've never repaired a chainsaw,,,I have 455e and need to remove the outer case and handle for better access to carburetor for removal of the carburetor to change fuel lines,,,how do I split the case? Thanks!!

      You don't need to split the crankcase to replace the fuel lines but you will need some tag wire to fish the fuel line through. You also will need the two fuel line grommets. Cut tapers on end of the fuel so the fishing will work better though the holes.

      Splitting the case is not possible or necessary on the 455 if I remember correctly as everything crankshaft replace can be done by the removing the cylinder. I don't think you even need to remove the carburetor for fuel line replacement but I haven't done one since the Spring.
