    Question:
Brand new 450 came with 18" bar/chain , .325 pitch and .058 gauge. Worked fine for 4 hours then threw first chain. Put on a new chain, adjusted tension. Within 5 minutes it threw that chain. Both chains ruined - cost $50 - and saw has been used less than 5 hours!

Also, Husqvarna website lists dealers / warranty shops in my area, 62703, but 90% of them haven't been a Husqvarana dealer in years!

Any help on the chain issue would be appreciated!

First the chain must be keep properly adjusted. This where you pull the chain up in the center of the bar where you just see the bottom the drive link. Just remember to loosen back up when storing the saw or damage can be done as the chain cools.

Second most thrown chains will usually have a few drive links damaged and it a simple matter of filing down the burrs on the drive links or the chain will bind in the bar groove. If I throwaway every thrown chain I would be out a considerable amount. I have thrown my carbide chain 4x already for being too loose but I am cutting stumps plus I am using the bar sideways and chain does get fairly hot and loosens.
