    Question:
    To whom it may concern,

My name is Michael Vatty, I am an Assistant Chief with Munson Fire Department. I am currently enrolled in a two and a half year program thru the Ohio Fire Chief's. I am researching a topic that relates to my fire department. Munson fire Department. I am asking for assistance with any information you may have or be able to give me. My topic is how to increase the reliability and efficiency is the power equipment of Munson Fire Department.
I have reported and documented cases of equipment not running properly and equipment not performing when needed. I have a multifaceted problem.
I question the fuel we are using, the starting and weekly checking procedures, how long the equipment should run and if it was idling for a long period of time.
Two stroke vs. four stroke Procedures.
The recommended maintenance that should be performed. What maintenance for use or hours of operation?
It seems the two stroke equipment is always running rich and replacement of spark plugs are a common issue. Are there any other high or hot spark plugs we should try or is there any recommended practices you could forward. Any information in your testing and knowledge would be appreciated. This is a work in progress and will take the next two years to develop. This document will be made public, and will be available on the Ohio Fire Services Foundation Web Site. Any information would be appreciated. Or best practices you could suggest. Please forward any and all literature to the following address or email.

    Thank You for your cooperation.

If you are a fire company and you have any concerns at all about your equipment not being reliable than the best bet would be for you to convert to Husqvarna Battery powered equipment. If you want some more info on what they have available call Buck Hardware (717-284-2722) and they can help you or put you in touch with a rep.
